Frequently Asked Questions
What are gamified challenges?
Gamified challenges turn your personal goals into a game. Instead of just tracking a habit, you create a challenge with a start date, an end date, and custom activities worth different points. This lets you compete against yourself (Solo) or with friends (Multiplayer) to reach a point goal. It's a great way to build habits for fitness, learning, studying, indie hacking, or any new skill you want to stay consistent with.
How does Level Up! work?
It's simple: 1. Create a Challenge: Give it a name (like 'Roommate Gym Wars' or 'Deep Work Duel') and a point goal. 2. Add Activities: Define your activities and assign points (e.g., 'Gym Session: 10 pts', '30min Study: 5 pts'). 3. Log Progress: As you complete activities, log them for today or yesterday. 4. Visualize Consistency: See all your completed activities on your personal Calendar View for powerful visual feedback. 5. Compete (Optional): In multiplayer challenges, watch the leaderboard to see who's in the lead.
Is Level Up! free to use?
Yes! All Solo Challenges are completely free. You can create unlimited personal challenges to build habits and track your progress. The Multiplayer Challenge feature, which lets you create challenges for friends, is a premium feature. You can learn more on our pricing page.
How is this different from a standard habit tracker?
While you can use it for habits, Level Up! is a true challenge platform. The key differences are: Points & Goals: You set a total point goal, not just a daily streak. Defined Timeline: Challenges have a start and end date, creating a focused 'sprint.' Competition: You can compete on a leaderboard, even against yourself. Visual Feedback: The Calendar View gives you a 'wall of wins,' showing your consistency over the entire challenge, which is incredibly motivating.
